Fyord
Scaling and redesigning a mobile neobank.

01
Introduction & project context
- Product
- Fyord — a modern mobile neobank ecosystem for everyday money management, instant bank transfers, and expense tracking.
- Goal
- Step into an ongoing project, master the complexity of banking processes, and deliver a comprehensive mobile application redesign.
- My Role
- Solo UX & UI Designer, inheriting the project from a previous designer.
- Timeline
- An 18-month engagement.
- Client
- A UK-based neobank startup.
The challenge
The primary challenge was the extreme pace and dynamic nature of the project. Operating in a fast-moving startup environment meant all changes and new features had to be deployed rapidly — while maintaining strict attention to transactional logic.
02
Domain mastery: navigating banking logic & flows
Translating complexity into interface
To build intuitive user journeys, I had to translate complex backend banking workflows into clean, simple mobile screens that do not overwhelm the user. I designed end-to-end flows and critical edge cases for core financial operations.

03
Application redesign & component architecture
Visual refresh
I led the visual overhaul of the application's most critical sections: transaction details, the payment hub, user profiles, and the referral module.

Figma file cleanup for developers
Taking over files in a high-speed startup required an immediate, thorough audit. I reorganized loose layers into smart, flexible components using Advanced Auto Layout — ensuring a clean, painless developer handoff for upcoming product releases.
